Day 1, Tuesday, March 29th
Depart LAX. We will board our non-stop to flight to Tokyo/Narita Airport. En route we will cross the international dateline, arriving in Tokyo the next day. Day 2, Wednesday, March 30th Royal Park Shiodome Tower Arrive Tokyo/Narita. Upon arrival and after entry procedures, we will be met by our guide and proceed to the Royal Park Shidome Hotel. Day 3, Thursday, March 31st - TOKYO (B) Royal Park Shiodome Tower After breakfast, we depart for our guided Tokyo morning tour of the Imperial Palace, the Asakusa Kannon Temple, Nakamise Shopping Street and Akihabara via chartered coach. The afternoon is free for exploring and shopping in Akihabara, the electronics, anime, manga district or the hip Harajuku fashion district. Day 4, Friday, April 1st - TOKYO - HAKONE (B, D) Yumoto Hotel Hakone or similar After breakfast, depart Tokyo via chartered coach for Hakone. Upon arrival at Hakone, visit Hakone Ropeway and cruise on Lake Ashi. After checking in to the Yumoto (Japanese style) Hotel, you may choose to experience an onsen hot spring bath or massage services to relax. We will enjoy a group dinner together. Day 5, Saturday, April 2nd - HAKONE - HIROSHIMA (B) Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima After breakfast, depart Hakone via Shinkansen Bullet Train to Hiroshima. Upon arrival, we will take a guided tour of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, A-Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Museum via chartered coach. We will meet with a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing, and have an opportunity to hear their story and ask questions. Evening free for individual activities. Day 6, Sunday, April 3rd - HIROSHIMA - MIYAJIMA (B, L) Rihga Royal Hotel Hiroshima After breakfast, depart for Miyajima via chartered coach. In route, visit Kintaiko Bridge in Iwakuni, a popular location for Sakura cherry blossom viewing. Then take a ferry to Miyajima Island and visit Itsukujima Shrine and local shops. While on Miyajima, we will enjoy a group Okonomiyaki lunch (at Komitei). Evening free for individual activities. Day 7, Monday, April 4th - HIROSHIMA - KYOTO (B) Hotel Granvia Kyoto After breakfast, depart for Kyoto via Shinkansen Bullet Train. Upon arrival, lunch on own at Kyoto Station. After lunch, half day tour of Kyoto, including the Kinkakuji Golden Pavillion and Arashiyama popular for Sakura cherry blossom viewing, its bamboo groves, Togetsukyo Bridge and local shopping. Evening free for individual activities. Day 8, Tuesday, April 5th - KYOTO (B) Hotel Granvia Kyoto After breakfast, half day tour of Kyoto by private coach and tea ceremony. In the evening, optional dinner with Maiko/Geisha in Gion Corner. Day 9, Wednesday, April 6th - KYOTO - TOKYO (B) Hotel New Otani Garden Tower After breakfast, depart for Tokyo via Shinkansen Bullet Train. Upon arrival in Tokyo transfer to New Otani Hotel. Day is free for individual activities. Day 10, Thursday, April 7th - TOKYO (B, D) Hotel New Otani Garden Tower Free day to explore Tokyo and its many shopping districts. Optional guided tour of Kamakura to visit Kotokuin with Great Buddha, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, including lunch; shopping in neighboring artists district. We will have our final Group Dinner in Akasaka. Day 11, Friday, April 8th - TOKYO - LAX (B) Board Airport Limousine Bus to Tokyo/Narita Airport to board non-stop flight to LAX.
